Aviva CEO Andrew Moss defends composite model - again

The chief executive of Aviva has again reiterated its support for its composite model approach as the insurer published its nine month results.

Aviva has been plagued by speculation this year that rival insurers want to break it up, not least RSA which formally bid for parts of its general insurance business in August.

Andrew Moss said: "Our life and general insurance businesses are excellent businesses in their own right, with strong market positions, good growth prospects, and attractive returns.

"In addition to their inherent strengths, there are significant advantages of running both of these businesses under a global brand.”

Aviva has a fight on its hands from its enemies, and the CEO looks up for it from the article. Rightly he seems to be thinking long term while everyone’s worried for the here and now, I think they’ll be fine, they won’t be broken up no matter how much their competitors wish it.
