Allianz Life Adds to Senior Counsel Position with Two New Hires

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz) today added to its legal department with two new hires in the Senior Counsel position. Jim Kochinski joined Allianz as Senior Counsel with responsibility over product development for the life insurance line of business, and Nancy Blaisdell joined Allianz as Senior Counsel supporting all of the company's operations functions. Kochinski and Blaisdell bring more than 40 years of corporate legal experience to the new positions.

Kochinski comes to Allianz from ING where he served as the lead counsel responsible for all aspects of legal services for ING's group and individual employee benefit product portfolio, including universal life, whole life, group annual term life and supplemental life. Prior to joining ING, Kochinski served as Vice President and Chief Counsel at Conseco Services, LLC leading the legal and compliance functions for the company's supplemental health product portfolio and providing legal guidance to Conseco's annuity business unit. Kochinski also worked as an attorney for Golden Rule Insurance Company.

Prior to joining Allianz, Blaisdell spent more than 20 years with The Hartford providing legal support to the individual life operations unit located in Minnesota, advising on matters pertaining to the sale and administration of the life contracts. Before joining The Hartford, Nancy was employed by Minnesota Protective Life Insurance Company.

Kochinski graduated from the University of South Florida and obtained his juris doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Indiana. Blaisdell graduated from Michigan State University and obtained her juris doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Washington.

Hmmmm, let's hope Allianz aren't tightening up they're life insurance policies making it harder for people to get a policy. Though it's probably just an internal restructering move, anybody know?
